The Connecticut Bar Association has scheduled a CLE seminar titled Surviving Foreclosures Under the "New" Bankruptcy Code: Litigation Tips for Lenders and Debtors.
The program will take place on Monday, December 17 from 6 to 8:15 p.m. at the CBA Law Center, 30 Bank Street, New Britain, CT.
Foreclosures of home mortgages are on the rise due to higher interest rates and repricing of mortgage payments for many "subprime" and other mortgage loans. This program will explain the current economic condition of the mortgage industry in Connecticut, how lenders' lawyers can protect their clients' collateral before and through bankruptcy, and how borrowers' lawyers can protect their clients' rights and assets during foreclosure litigation and through bankruptcy.
The program co-chairs are Chris R. Nelson, Parrett Porto Parese & Colwell PC, and Douglas R. Van Valkenburg, Updike Kelly & Spellacy PC.
