Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP added three lateral partners in the United States: Capital Markets partner Michael Hickey, Restructuring partner Ryan Preston Dahl, and Private Equity partner Matthew Stewart.
Mr. Hickey joined Weil’s New York office from Goldman Sachs, where he was a Managing Director, Associate General Counsel and Head of the Leveraged Finance Legal Team since 2006. In this role, he managed legal, regulatory and reputational risk and provided commercial legal advice for a wide range of leveraged finance transactions. He also worked on debt transactions involving M&A and other matters. Prior to joining Goldman, he was an associate at Latham & Watkins LLP, where he worked on a wide range of capital markets and corporate transactions.
Mr. Dahl joined Weil’s New York office from the Chicago office of Kirkland & Ellis LLP, where he was a partner. He has a broad range of transactional and litigation experience across a wide array of industries. This includes significant experience representing publicly- and privately-held debtors, distressed investors, and financial sponsors in special situations, out of court restructurings and distressed acquisitions, and in-court chapter 11 processes through prepackaged, prearranged, and traditional restructurings.
Mr. Stewart joined Weil’s Silicon Valley office from King & Spalding LLP, where he was a partner in the Mergers & Acquisitions and Private Equity practices. He has substantial experience advising private equity funds, growth equity investors, and strategic investors on mergers and acquisitions, private equity and structured capital investments, and financing transactions.
