Viewing E-Discovery Through The Corporate Veil Annual Masters Conference October 16 and 17

The Third Annual Masters Conference, Viewing E-Discovery Through the Corporate Veil, has been scheduled for Thursday and Friday, October 16 and 17 at the Ronald Reagan Building at 1300 Pennsylvania Avenue, Washington, DC.

Registration on both days is at 8 a.m. followed by a keynote address at 9 a.m. and the program from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. A networking reception will be held on Thursday evening at 5:30 p.m.

The program will focus on educating corporate counsel, law firm attorneys and litigation support professionals on one of the most significant developments in litigation over the past decade - the 2006 FRCP amendments as they apply to electronically stored information.

Day two will cover: Project Management as Conduit to Success; Creating and Implementing a Corporate IT Structure; Cross-Border Investigations, and Records Retention. The final session will be on Identifying and Understanding Your or Your Client's Electronic Data Landscape.

Day one keynote speaker, Robert D. Owen, partner at Fulbright & Jaworski, will describe the findings of the firm's Annual Litigation Trends Survey of the e-discovery practices and experiences of over 300 corporations. Day two keynote speaker, Magistrate Judge John M. Facciola, will discuss his rulings on search engines as a starting point for the premise of the possibility that concept search engines may need to be reviewed under Rule 702.

Among other expert speakers will be Tom Allman, former senior vice president, general counsel and chief compliance officer of BASF Corporation and later senior counsel at Mayer Brown and Ralph C. Losey, a shareholder in the Orlando office of Akerman Senterfitt and co-chair of Akerman's E-Discovery Team.
