Virginia Continuing Legal Education and the University of Virginia School of Law will present the 30th Annual National Trial Advocacy College on Saturday through Thursday, January 8-13, at the University of Virginia School of Law, 580 Massie Road in Charlottesville, Virginia.
The program will begin Saturday at 8:30 a.m. and will end at 5:30 p.m. All other days the college begins at 9:00 a.m. and ends at 6:00 p.m.
All participants will attend live lectures and demonstrations by some of the finest speakers and lawyers in the country. Each participant will be assigned to a small group of like-experienced lawyers each led by at least one experienced trial lawyer or judge from the faculty.Attendees will study and perform aspects of trial advocacy, including opening statements, direct examination, cross-examination, examination of experts, introduction of exhibits and closing argument. Participants will be videotaped, and there will be a group and private discussion and critique designed to focus on particular advocacy skills.
A live mock jury trial is part of the program and will be presided over by an experienced federal or state judge. At the conclusion of the mock trial the judge will discuss and critique the trial with participants.

Jones, chief judge, Western District of Virginia; and Hon. Russell E. Carparelli, Colorado Court of Appeals.
