The 2009 Upper Midwest Employment Law Institute will be held Thursday and Friday, May 28 and 29. Beginning at 8:00 a.m. on Thursday, the institute will continue until 5:00 p.m. that day with a reception following. On Friday the program will begin at 8:00 a.m. and adjourn at 5:00 p.m. The event will be held at the Saint Paul River Centre, 175 West Kellogg Boulevard, St. Paul, Minnesota.
Layoffs, wage freezes and other actions designed to cut labor costs are front page news. A new administration promises dramatic new directions, and attorneys and other professionals are grappling with huge employment law changes. Never before have there been so many new law changes in one year.
