The University Of Texas School Of Law has scheduled a two-day seminar at the Four Seasons Hotel in Las Vegas. VALCON 2010 - Restructurings, Reorganizations and Distressed Sales: Valuation Strategies and Opportunities will be held on Wednesday, February 24 through Friday, February 26.
The seminar will begin on Wednesday afternoon with two tracks: Bootcamp: Financials and Valuation Methods and Technical Valuation Issues that will be followed by a panel discussion, an Analysis of Valuation Reports Issued in The Last Two Years, and adjourn to an open networking reception.
Thursday's sessions begin at 8:30 a.m. with a panel discussion titled Playing to Win: Effective Valuation Analysis and Strategies for Restructurings, Reorganizations, and Distressed Sales, moderated by Donald S. Bernstein, Davis Polk & Wardwell, LLP. The luncheon keynote speaker, Diane C. Swonk, chief economist with Mesirow Financial Consulting, LLC will discuss the Transition from Recession to Recovery: Will We Even Notice? A judicial panel moderated by John Wm. Butler, Jr., Skadden Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP will end the day's sessions. A networking reception will follow. On Friday the sessions will run from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and include a discussion moderated by Marcia L. Goldstein of Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP titled Who Bears the Ultimate Risk?: General Growth, Substantive Consolidation, InterCompany Claims and the Use of Cash Collateral.
