On Thursday and Friday, July 29 and 30, the University of Texas School of Law will hold a 2010 Fundamentals of Insurance CLE Event.
It will be held at the Belo Mansion in Dallas and will run from 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Thursday and from 8: 30 a.m. to 12:50 p.m. on Friday. The conference will run again August 12 and 13 in Houston.
This guide to the claims process for commercial litigators, business lawyers, brokers, and new coverage counsel will cover topics fundamental to the practice of insurance law. Among those are the Structure and Context of Insurance Contracts: How to Read and Interpret the Policy with Vincent E. Morgan, Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman LLP; Understanding the Players: Who Are They? With Stephanie Rennell Tippit, Westmoreland Hall, P.C.; and Preparing and Making a Claim: A Practical Guide to the Issues and Pitfalls with Mark L. Kincaid, Kincaid & Horton L.L.P.
Thursday's luncheon presentation, The Tripartite Relationship and Tilley Obligations, will be offered by David H. Timmins, Gardere Wynne Sewell LLP.
On Friday, topics will include Litigating Insurance Claims, Part II; Key Discoverability and Privilege Issues Involving Insurance Disputes; The Critical Role of Summary Judgment Motions and Rules of Construction in Insurance Litigation; and Mother Nature and Insurance. A Q&A session at 12:30 p.m. will end the program.
