The University of Texas School of Law will offer Texas Margin Tax: A Tax Advisors Guide to the Tough Issues on three dates in three locations.
On Thursday, February 11, the seminar will be held at the AT&T Conference Center, the University of Texas in Austin. On Thursday, February 18, the seminar will be held at the South Texas College of Law, 1300 San Jacinto St. in Houston, and on Tuesday, February 23, it is scheduled for the Belo Mansion, 2101 Ross Avenue in Dallas.
It will run from 9 a.m. until 3:15 p.m. in all locations.
The following topics, among others, will be discussed: Franchise Tax Audits; Surviving an Audit by the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts; Service Businesses and Total Revenue: Getting to Net; Who bears the Burden of the Margin Tax?; and Planning Opportunities and Pitfalls.
The luncheon presenter is Hon. Peter Brooks of the State Office of Administrative Hearings in Austin. Among the other speakers are Steven W. Anderson, KPMG LLP; Daniel J. Micciche, Akin, Gump, Strauss, Hauer & Feld, L.L.P. ; and Cynthia M. Ohlenforst, K&L Gates LLP.
