The State Bar of Texas has scheduled a two-day Advanced Workers' Compensation Course for Thursday and Friday, August 13 and 14, at the Austin Convention Center, 500 E. Cesar Chavez Street in Austin.
The course will run from 8 a.m. to 5:15 p.m. on Thursday and from 8:15 a.m. until 3:45 p.m. on Friday.
On Thursday, topics will include a Case Law Update from the Perspective of Plaintiff and Defendant, a Legislative Update and Hot Topics, a Supplemental Income Benefits Rule Update, and a Hearing Officer Panel with Joe R. Anderson, Burns Anderson Jury & Brenner; Matthew B. Lewis, Rogers Booker & Lewis; and members of the Texas Department of Insurance.
Among Friday's topics are Evaluating Impairment Ratings, Persuasive Writing, the Ethics of Confronting Prescription Abuse in Workers' Comp Cases,Bad Faith: a Litigation Update and Bad Faith from the Plaintiff & Defendant Perspectives.
