The State Bar of Texas has scheduled a CLE seminar titled Emerging Legal Issues and the Internet for Friday, November 13, at the Crowne Plaza Houston - River Oaks, 2712 Southwest Freeway in Houston.
It will begin at 8:15 a.m. and adjourn at 5 p.m.
In the morning, a panel discussion, The Problem of the Online Juror - A Juror Perspective, moderated by the Hon. W. Royal Furgeson, Jr., senior U.S. district judge, U.S. District Court, Northern Texas, will cover twittering in the court, revising juror instructions, and the danger of the online juror. Other topics that will be covered throughout the day are conducting electronic discovery on the Internet, ethical issues for lawyers involving the Internet, Internet-related Employment Law Issues, Internet and privacy, intellectual property concerns, and lawyers' use of social networking sites.
The lunchtime presenter, Thomas H. Watkins of Brown McCarroll will discuss what should and shouldn't be in emails.
