Suing, Defending, and Negotiating with Banking Institutions is the title of an upcoming Texas Bar CLE seminar that will be presented live in Dallas on Thursday and Friday, April 2 and 3, and as a video replay in May in San Antonio and in Houston.
The Dallas program will be held at the Sheraton Downtown Dallas, 400 North Olive Street.
All locations will follow a program that begins at 8:45 a.m. and adjourns at 5 p.m. on day one and runs from 9 a.m.until 3:30 p.m. on day two.
On day one, topics include Emergency Economic Stabilization Act of 2008 - The Bailout Plan, with James L. Gosdin, Stewart Title Guaranty Company; a legislative update with Karen M. Neeley of Cox Smith Matthews Inc.; Discovery With and Against a Bank with S. David Smith, McGlinchey Stafford; and Litigating Home Equity Claims: A Challenge to Lien Validity by L. Bradley Hancock of Greenberg Traurig. A break for networking and lunch will be provided.
Among the topics for day two are Remedies, Waivers, Jurisdiction and Venue by Marcos G. Ronquillo, Goodwin Ronquillo; Federal Preemption with J. Scott Sheehan of Greenberg Traurig; and Commercial Loan Modification with Javier Martinez of K&L Gates. The luncheon presentation, Debt Elimination Scams, will be presented by Gregg D. Stevens, McGlinchey Stafford.
