The State Bar of Texas has scheduled a CLE course titled Advanced Real Estate Strategies Course for Thursday and Friday, October 2 and 3, at the La Fonda Hotel, 10 E. San Francisco Street in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
On Wednesday, October 1, a welcoming reception where you can meet the faculty and pick up course materials will begin at 6 p.m.
On Thursday the Leasing and Mixed Use sessions are scheduled for 7:30 a.m. until 1 p.m.Leasing faculty presenters are Kent Newsome of Greenberg Traurig, David Weatherbie of Cramer Weatherbie Richardson, and Thomas M. Whelan of Mcquire Craddock & Strother.The Leasing panel will discuss various issues that arise in retail, office, industrial and ground leases.The Mixed Use faculty incudes Edward A. Peterson, Winstead; Lorin W. Combs, Winstead; and Rebecca A. Fischer, Sherman & Howard in Denver.
Friday sessions begin at 7:30 a.m. and adjourn at 1 p.m.The first morning session, titled Dealing with a Troubled Real Estate Project: Modern Considerations in Workouts, will be presented by Philip D. Weller, DLA Piper; Josiah M. Daniel, III, Vinson & Elkins; and the Hon. "Cooter" Hale, U.S. Bankruptcy Court, the Northern District of Texas.The second Friday session is titled Land Use: Resolving Difficult Issues and Handling Disputed Projects, with panelists Reid C. Wilson, Wilson, Cribbs & Goren; James L. Dougherty, Jr., attorney and editor of Mixon on Texas Municipal Zoning Law; William Terry Bray, Graves, Dougherty, Hearon & Moody; and William S. Dahlstrom of Jackson Walker presenting.
