Supreme Court Environmental Decisions Discussed In San Francisco

The San Francisco Bar Association has scheduled a brown bag luncheon titled The Supreme Court Takes on Environmental Law for Thursday, November 19, at the BASF Conference Center, 301 Battery Street in San Francisco.

The event will run from noon until 1:45 p.m.

Dorothy Dickey, attorney with the State Water Resources Control Board will moderate a discussion about the following cases from the 2008-2009 term: Winter v. NRDC, Summers v. Earth Island Institute, Entergy v. Riverkeeper, Burlington Northern v. USEPA, and Coeur Alaska v. Southeast Alaska Conservation Council. The panelists who will discuss these issues are Vikram Amar, associate dean for academic affairs and professor of law, UCLA Davis School of Law; Richard M. Frank, the executive director of the Center for Law, Energy, and the Environment, UCLA Berkeley School of Law; and Alice Kaswan, professor at the University of San Francisco School of Law.
