The State Bar of Texas has scheduled an Advanced Administrative Law Course for Thursday and Friday, September 17 and 18, at the Austin Convention Center, 500 E. Cesar Chavez Street in Austin.
The course will run from 8:45 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Thursday and from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday.
Among the topics that will be discussed areimportant pending cases in the Texas Supreme Court, new SOAH rules and procedures, tips and advice for SOAH hearings, criminal convictions and occupational licensing, beyond the APA, recent developments in rulemaking, and electronic discovery.
Among the scheduled speakers are Hon. Cathleen Parsley, chief administrative law judge, State Office of Administrative Hearings; Nicholas Canaday III, assistant attorney general, Environmental Protection and Administrative Law Division, Office of the Attorney General; Ron L. Beal, professor, the Baylor University School of Law; and Diane M. Henson, justice, Third Court of Appeals.
