The Southern California ACCA chapter has scheduled its 14th Annual Gala Dinner and Pro Bono Silent Auction for Friday, May 1, at the Westin Bonaventure Hotel, California Ballroom, 404 S. Figueroa Street in Los Angeles.
This year's distinguished speaker will be Bill Clinton, founder of the William J. Clinton Foundation and the 42nd President of the United States. President Clinton will discuss the challenge of globalization and our inevitable common future based on shared goals and values in a speech titled Embracing our Common Humanity.
At the dinner, ACCA-SoCal will present its prestigious Diversity Award and Pro Bono Counsel of the Year Justice Award.
In addition to raising more than $20,000 to support local pro bono legal service providers, the chapter's 1400 members also give back through such programs as Street Law, Adoption Day, LA Works, and Habitat for Humanity. Proceeds of the Pro Bono Silent Auction will benefit public counsel.
