The South Texas College of Law has planned its 21st Annual Energy Law Institute forWednesday and Thursday, September 10 and 11, at 1303 San Jacinto Street, Houston.
It begins at 9 a.m. with the morning session, a land and lease module, which includes recent updates in oil and gas law; legal, procurement, and IP issues; and a primer on railroad commission regulation.
Speakers will discuss indemnity and insurance in the oilfield, surface damages lawsuits in Louisiana and Act 312, and catastrophe responses. The afternoon session will adjourn at 4:45 p.m. and a reception will follow.
Thursday will begin with a surface-use module at 8:30 a.m. and end at 11:45 for a lunch break and presentation titled Legal Ethics, Pain, and Suffering. The afternoon session, the offshore module, is scheduled to run from 1:15 until 4:15 p.m.
