Seminar Will Explore Impact Of Stoneridge Decision

The Bar Association of San Francisco will present a CLE seminar titled Securities Litigation After Stoneridge: Are Lawsuits Against Investment Banks, Accountants, and Other Third Party Actors Now Dead?

The program will take place on Wednesday, March 12 from noon to 1:30 p.m. at the BASF Conference Center, 301 Battery Street, San Francisco. Registration begins at 11:30 a.m.

Discussion topics will include: in the Supreme Court's recent decision in Stoneridge Investment Partners LLC v Scientific Atlanta, Inc., the Court held that the Section 10(b) private right of action does not extend to aiders and abettors; how the Court's Stoneridge decision has altered the securities litigation landscape in the Ninth Circuit, in light of previous decisions such as Simpson v AOL Time Warner Inc., 452 F.3d 1040, and what remains of private securities claims against third party actors like investment banks, accountants and lawyers.

Speakers are Doug Young and Stephanie Skaff, both Farella Braun & Martell.
