The Los Angeles County Bar Association is planning a CLE seminar titled Hot Topics in Business Bankruptcies.
The program will take place on Tuesday, February 26 from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at the LACBA Conference Center, 281 South Figueroa Street, Los Angeles.
Attorneys are gearing up for the next big wave of bankruptcy cases that is expected to begin shortly. What will the hot topics be for bankruptcy practitioners and others caught up in a changing economic environment? Four experienced bankruptcy practitioners will discuss issues such as the impact of the subprime debacle, the theory of "deepening insolvency," director and officer liability, equitable subordination, hedge funds, and other matters of interest in the restructuring world.
Speakers will be Michael I. Gotfried, Kirkland & Ellis LLP; Brian L. Holman, White & Case LLP; Michael B. Lubic, Sonnenschein Nath & Rosenthal LLP, and Katherine C. Piper, Steptoe & Johnson LLP.
