SEC Chairs To Speak At Fordham Law

The Fordham University School of Law will present a topical program looking at the Securities and Exchange Commission: The Next 75 Years on Monday, September 27, at 6:30 p.m. at Fordham Law's James B.M. McNally Amphitheatre on West 62nd Street in New York City.

The current chairperson of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, Mary Schapiro, along with former chairmen Arthur Levitt , (1993-2001), Harvey Pitt (2001-2003) and Richard Breeden (1989-1993), will participate in a timely discussion of the past, present and future of the SEC.Mr. Breeden will moderate the panel and the panelists will explore how the SEC has evolved since its founding in 1934 and the challenges it must overcome in the next 75 years.They will discuss the historic Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act recently passed by Congress and signed into law by President Obama.

A reception in the Law School's Platt Atrium will immediately follow the program, and both the discussion and reception are free and open to the public.
