A lunchtime CLE seminar titled "Free" Information: Using Open Records Laws Effectively has been scheduled for Thursday, October 2, from noon until 2 p.m. at the BASF Conference Center, 301 Battery Street, San Francisco.
The scheduled speakers are Therese Stewart, chief deputy city attorney, Office of the San Francisco City Attorney; Marcia Hofman, staff attorney, Electronic Frontier Foundation; Michael Risher, staff attorney, American Civil Liberties Union of Northern California; and Peter Scheer, executive director, California First Amendment Coalition.They will discuss the concept of free information and the fact that open government requests can be an effective tool to get the records you want for litigation, news media reporting, or to serve the public interest.
