San Francisco Bar Offers Practice Pointers ForLitigating An Asylum Case In Immigration Court

On Monday evening, November 8, the Bar Association of San Francisco will present Litigating an Asylum Case in Immigration Court at the BASF Conference Center, 301 Battery Street in San Francisco.

It will run from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., and light refreshments will be served.

The seminar will focus on the procedural aspects of litigating an asylum case in immigration court, including timing concerns, filing requirements, evidentiary issues, and what to expect at the merits hearing. The presenters are experienced judges from the San Francisco Immigration Court. Hon. Loreto S. Geisse was appointed as an immigration judge in 2004. Prior to this appointment, Judge Geisse served as counsel to the chief immigration judge and as a trial attorney with the Department of Justice, Office of Immigration Litigation. Hon. Print Maggard was appointed as an immigration judge in 2009, and he served as an assistant chief counsel for ICE and DHS in San Francisco.
