It is time to register for ACCA SoCal's flagship event, the Annual Gala Dinner and Pro Bono Silent Auction, being held this year on Friday, April 30, at the Westin Bonaventure Hotel in downtown Los Angeles.
This year's keynote speaker is Condoleezza Rice, U.S. secretary of state from 2005 to 2009 and assistant to the president for national security affairs (national security advisor) from January 2001 to 2005. She joined the Stanford University faculty as professor of political science in 1981 and served as Stanford's provost from 1993 to 1999.
Each year the chapter raises thousands of dollars to support legal service providers. This year, proceeds from the gala will benefit the Public Counsel Law Center, the Southern California affiliate of the Lawyers' Committee for Civil Rights under Law. The Public Counsel's Community Development Project is committed to supporting community-based organizations and businesses that strengthen low-income and underserved Los Angeles neighborhoods.
Pro bono and diversity awards will also be given at the event.
