Proskauer Rose will host a series of fall seminars about topical issues for corporate and business lawyers. The series begins with Cloud Computing 101: Introduction to the Technology & Legal Issues on Thursday, October 15, from 8:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at the Proskauer Conference Center, 1585 Broadway, New York. Cloud computing - what it is and what its implications are for enterprises will be explained. The Media and Communications Practice Group will be joined by guest speaker James Adreon, IBM's director of Infrastructure Business and Operational Services to discuss transactional issues in negotiating cloud computing agreements and legal issues presented by cloud computing implementations.
Next in the series on Tuesday, October 27, is New Media, Technology and the Law: Issues on the Near Horizon. It will focus on the practical issues that are of interest to lawyers across all industries, including a review of legal developments in the digital technology field; maintaining employer electronic communications policies in an evolving digital environment; new legal issues in emerging technologies; and legal issues in virtual worlds and virtual gaming. This evening event will be held at the Grand Hyatt New York, the Manhattan Ballroom, Park Avenue at Grand Central from 5 to 7:30 p.m.
The third seminar in the series, Emerging Issues in Health Care Information Technology, is scheduled for Friday, November 6, from 8 to 10 a.m., also at the Proskauer Conference Center. The focus at this event will be a review of the health-care-related provisions of the 2009 economic stimulus legislation.
