On Monday, March 9, the DC Bar Association will present a program titled What Every Lawyer Needs to Know About Customs and Customs Law. Beginning at 6 p.m. and adjourning at 9:15 p.m., the course will take place at the DC Bar Conference Center, 1250 H Street, Washington, DC.
The course will provide attendees a basic understanding of the legal, substantive, procedural and operational issues involved in importing merchandise into the United States. Intended as an introductory course for non-customs lawyers or those new to the area of international trade and customs law, it is also suitable as a refresher course for those attorneys who occasionally encounter customs issues. All attorneys advising manufacturing firms and other companies involved in the shipment of merchandise across national boundaries can expect to benefit from the content of the session.
Leading the course will be Myron Barlow, Barlow and Associates, PLLC and Marianne Rowden, American Association of Exporters and Importers.
