The Practising Law Institute will host its 50th annual Antitrust Law Institute in a two-day seminar,May 20 and 21, at the PLICalifornia Center, 685 Market Street in San Francisco.
The program will begin on Wednesday at 9 a.m. and adjourn at 5 p.m. On Thursday, it will begin at 9 a.m. and adjourn at 4:15 p.m.
The antitrust law institute has consistently been hailed as an invaluable resource for antitrust practitioners across the country. With an increasing number of Supreme Court decisions in critical areas of antitrust law and with a new administration for antitrust enforcement, this year's institute promises to cover the latest issues in this hot practice area. Topics to be covered include alleged price fixing, competitor collaborations, rules for dominant firms, various restraints on customers and suppliers, current merger analysis and enforcement, standards for compliance with U.S. price discrimination laws, and the strategies and priorities of the antitrust enforcers, including increased cooperation among U.S. and foreign competition authorities.
Attendees will hear from a team of nationally known practitioners and key government regulators, including the keynote presenter Hon. Vaughn R. Walker, chief judge, U.S. District Court, Northern District of California; Evangelina Almirantearena, senior competition counsel, Intel Corp.; Elaine F. Forman, director, Legal Services, Cisco Systems, Inc.; and Norris E. Washington, Federal Trade Commission, Western Region.
