The Practicing Law Institute has scheduled a two-day seminar titled Patent Litigation 2008 for Monday and Tuesday, September 22 and 23, at the PLI California Center in San Francisco.
The sessions will go from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on day one and from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on day two.
Attendees will get an update on patent litigation laws. Rapid changes to patent laws and the expense of patent litigation make it necessary to stay current with the state of the law and learn how to develop successful litigation strategies.
The faculty consists of judges and lawyers who have earned national reputations in patent litigation.Among the presenters are Edward G. Poplawski, Sidley Austin LLP; Philip K. Anthony, CEO, DecisionQuest; Denise L. McKenzie, Sidley Austin LLP; and Charles S. Barquist, Morrison & Foerster LLP.
This is an important seminar for the following professionals: patent litigators and lawyers in patent firms who advise clients in disputes that may lead to litigation; general business litigators whose practice includes patent trials; patent prosecutors whose actions in preparing and prosecuting patents are critical in providing support for the proper claim construction; and corporate counsel who will have the responsibility for supervising patent litigation, interpreting its progress to management and pursuing opportunities for settlement.
A simultaneous live webcast of this event is available.
