Join the Pennsylvania Bar Institute for a program featuring Corporate Compliance and Ethics. The forum is on Tuesday, October 25 at PBI's CLE Conference Center located in the Wanamaker Building in Central Philadelphia. The program starts at 9:00 a.m. and ends at 1:15 p.m.

To thrive in today's competitive environment, companies need not only to comply with all applicable laws and regulations, but also to appreciate and adhere to ethical business practices. This seminar will offer tools on how to determine what risks should be addressed, how to establish a compliance program to reduce these risks, how to build and promote policies, how to establish and advocate an ethical and compliant corporate culture, and how to develop a means to determine the effectiveness of a compliance program.

Topics will focus on the background of corporate compliance, including a discussion of legal and regulatory requirements, incentives and good business practices. A discussion of risk assessment will include designing the risk assessment, effective interview techniques and tips on how to avoid risk. Another segment will look at the role of the board of directors and training the board to make compliance an annual part of the company's business plan.

The faculty is Gail P. Granoff, Gail P. Granoff LLC; Margaret M. Cassidy, PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP; and Amy J. Conway-Hatcher, Morgan Lewis & Bockius LLP.
