Pennsylvania Bar Institute Investigates Sexual Harassment Cases

On Tuesday, August 17, PBI will offer a program Handling the Sexual Harassment Case: From Allegation to Investigation to Trial. The seminar will be held at the Delaware County Bar Association on Front and Lemon Streets in Media, PA. It begins at 9:30 am. and ends at 2:00 p.m.

Employment lawyers know that sexual harassment cases carry high stakes. Jobs and reputations are all at risk in this emotionally charged field of practice. At this course, practitioners will gain an intermediate level of knowledge of this tricky subject. Attendees will be brought up-to-the-minute on the latest case developments. The faculty will take participants through the various stages of handling a sexual harassment case - from the allegation to the all-important investigation stage and to trial. Participants will explore how evidence in email messages, text messages, social networking sites and other electronic communications are playing a key role in sexual harassment litigation. The faculty will provide helpful e-discovery tips and explore the nuances of the Faragher/Ellerth defense.

The speakers are Samuel J. Cordes, Ogg, Cordes, Murphy & Ignelzi, LLP; Laura E. Ellsworth, partner in charge, Jones Day; and David J. Walton of Cozen O'Connor.
