On Friday, May 20, the Pennsylvania Bar Institute will examine the critical issue of Director's and Officers' Liability Insurance.
The program will be held at PBI's CLE Conference Center at the Wanamaker Building in Philadelphia. The discussion begins at 9:00 a.m. and ends at 1:15 p.m.
The past few years have produced alarming examples of exposure of directors and officers in civil lawsuits, regulatory actions and governmental investigations. Attendees will go over in detail what is covered an officers' and directors' liability insurance policies. The program will highlight areas that are often overlooked and taken for granted in such policies. There will be a panel discussion of the kinds of activities that may lead to claims, which will enable participants to educate their clients on avoiding practices that may put them in harm's way. Attorneys in corporate and commercial fields will discuss exclusions, common business practices that can lead to claim protections, and triggers for insurance coverage of executives.
The speakers will be announced before the conference, but as of this publication there will be a presentation by Seth H. Brogan of The Graham Company.
