Join the Pennsylvania Bar Institute as it presents Piercing the Corporate Veil. The program is scheduled for Wednesday, May 5 from noon until 3:15 p.m. at the PBI Professional Development Center, 339 Sixth Avenue in Pittsburgh.
While the doctrine of piercing the corporate veil is not new, new developments in the law have broadened its application in ways that legal practitioners need to understand. This course examines the corporate formation, policies and procedures that should be followed by small businesses or other LLCs in order to take advantage of and maximize the liability protection of corporate status. Participants will learn methods to frame pleadings, obtain records in discovery, and protect clients from this type of exposure. Experts in the field will discuss useful and important procedures to avoid the risks associated with attempts to pierce the corporate veil.
The faculty for the session includes Elizabeth S. Fenton, Reed Smith; Andrea M. Bartko, Pietragallo Gordon Alfan Bosick & Raspanti, LLP; and Dyle Ann Midkiff, Nihill & Riedley, PC.
