In a morning event on Tuesday, July 19, Haynes and Boone, LLP will host a complimentary seminar in which the firm's OSHA lawyers, Trace Ryan Blair and Matthew Thomas Deffebach, will cover current enforcement trends and upcoming initiatives.
It will run from 8:00 to 9:00 a.m. at the firm's Austin office, 600 Congress Avenue, Suite 1300.
The presenters - members of the Occupational Safety and Health Law Committee of The American Bar Association - will be sharing breaking news from the annual committee meeting. The committee brings together representatives from the Secretary of Labor, the Review Commission, and the Department of Labor's Office of the Solicitor from Washington DC to share significant decisions and initiatives. Attendees will, in turn, have the opportunity to learn about the significant changes that are taking shape in 2011.
Among the topics that will be reviewed are the Injury Illness and Prevention Program (I2P2); enforcement trends regarding noise, fall protection, and the new Field Operations Manual; and recent decisions by the Review Commission, including the current status of cases regarding OSHA's ability to pierce the corporate veil.
