The State Bar of Texas will offer the Business Torts Institute 2011 this fall, on October 13 and 14 in Houston.
It will run from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Thursday and from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Friday at the Westin Houston Memorial City, 945 Gessner Road.
Hot Topics that will be discussed include ten emerging issues in business torts every trial lawyer should know; collecting and executing on an unpaid judgment in a business tort dispute; the case every business tort lawyer needs to know; new rules on shareholder oppression and minority shareholder rights; litigating the non-compete, non-disclosure and trade secret case; and Facebook, Twitter, and social media: managing, controlling and understanding an unstoppable trend.
The program includes a powerful one-hour ethics presentation on Friday moderated by Hon. Karen Gren Johnson, Jones Day, and with several former State Bar of Texas presidents weighing in.
