The New York State Bar Association, in cooperation with the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, the New York City Bar Association, the New York County Bar Association, and prominent law firms, is launching New York Global Law Week.
Global Law Week will run from Tuesday, May 10 through Friday, May 13. The events will take place at various bar associations, law firms and other venues across New York City.
During the week of May 10-13, the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, the law firms of Baker Hostetler, Chadbourne Park, Cleary Gottlieb, Debevoise & Plimpton, Duane Morris, Hunton & Williams, Jones Day, Patterson & Belknap, Phillips Nizer, Satterlee Stephens, Sullivan & Cromwell, Tannenbaum Helpern, the New York City Bar Association, the New York County Bar Association, and Fordham Law School will all open their doors to attorneys, legal professionals, clients and colleagues from around the world to discuss major issues in the international practice of law and to celebrate the prominence of New York law and New York itself in the commercial, financial, and cultural life of the world. Global Law Week will take place at the same time the final report of the task force on New York law and international matters will be released, thus making the occurrence of Global Law Week a very timely occasion to shine the spotlight on the New York international legal profession and community.
Kicking off Global Law Week on May 10 will be the Third Annual Fundamentals of International Practice, a NYSBA program that will provide an overview of the most essential elements of international legal practice. It will be held at the Yale Club, 50 Vanderbilt Street in New York City from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
