On Tuesday, January 6 from 8 to 11 a.m., the New Jersey Chapter of ACC will present a program titled Managing Your Workforce During Times Of Economic Crisis. The location will be the Park Avenue Club, 184 Park Avenue, Florham Park, NJ.
Scheduled speakers are partners in the law firm McCarter & English - Pamela J. Moore and Thomas F. Doherty, Labor & Employment; Joel E. Horowitz, Tax & Benefits;and Penelope M. Taylor of Financial Services Litigation.
They will assess the impact of the economic downturn on employment law claims, review the statistics and outline steps that employers can implement to address common employment claims and concerns that arise in a bad company. They will discuss the recent U.S. Supreme Court decision in Meacham v. Knolls Atomic Power Laboratory; address claims under the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, and will highlight the impact of Sections 409A of the Internal Revenue Code on severance programs.Finally they will explore how to deal with the increased threat of ERISA litigation that may occur as a result of the financial crisis.
