The New Jersey Law Center is hosting a presentation by Michael E. Tigar, "America's Master Advocate," on the Nine Principles of Litigation and Perhaps of Life. He will be appearing on Thursday, August 19, from 9:00 a.m. until 1:15 p.m. at the NJ Law Center located in New Brunswick, New Jersey.
Mr. Tigar starts his Nine Principles presentation by acknowledging that litigation lawyering is in trouble. He will persuasively argue that it is time for lawyers to rededicate themselves to the basic idea of obtaining justice for clients and doing so ethically, skillfully and courageously.
He will discuss and illustrate how to investigate the facts before spending money on discovery; how to develop a compelling story of your case; how to select and effectively use experts; and how to meet and compromise the other side's experts.
Mr. Tigar recently retired as a professor of the practice of law at Duke University Law School and has authored or co-authored 14 books and 3 plays; he has argued 7 cases in the Supreme Court of the United States.
