The State Bar of Texas has scheduled its Texas Minority Attorney Program on two dates and locations. On June 3 it will be held at the Texas Law Center in Austin, and on June 25 it will be held at the South Texas College of Law, Garrett-Townes Auditorium, 1303 San Jacinto Street in Houston.
The daylong event will include a judges' panel, avoiding a grievance, advertising and marketing your practice, and getting appointed as attorney ad litem.
In Austin, the Hon. Eva Guzman, justice, Supreme Court of Texas, will offer the keynote luncheon address - Professionalism: Inside and Outside the Courtroom.
At the Houston location, John M. Farrell and Lynn Liberato, both of Haynes and Boone, LLP, will offer a Practical Guide to Summary Judgments in Texas State Courts, and David A. Chaumette, De la Rosa and Chaumette, will discuss E-Discovery. The keynote luncheon presentation, Ethical Advocacy, will be offered by Hon. Sylvester Turner, State Representative, Dist. 139, and Barnes & Turner.
