The State Bar of Michigan has chosen the Westin Kierland Resort and Spa in Scottsdale, Arizona, as the location for its winter meeting, Being an Agent of Change.
The three-day seminar about issues in real estate law will take place Thursday to Saturday, March 11 to 13, beginning with a welcome reception from 7 to 8 p.m. on Thursday and ending on Saturday at 11 a.m.
On Friday, the seminar runs from 9 a.m. until noon. Ronald E. Reynolds, Berry Reynolds & Rogowski PC and Azim Q. Hameed, Sherman & Howard LLC will discuss Abundance vs. Scarcity: Comparing and Contrasting Water Rights in Michigan and Arizona. It will be followed by a panel discussion titled Current Topics in Alternative Energy and Sustainable Design; What You Need to Know as a Real Estate Attorney, moderated by Margaret Van Meter of Warner Norcross and Judd LLP. Wind Farms, Turning REDD Credits into Green Carbon, and Financial Incentives for Sustainable Design will be included in this panel discussion.
Saturday's discussions include Avoiding Pitfalls in Arizona Real Estate Transactions; Real Time Trends in Judicial Foreclosures, Workouts, and Financing Opportunities; and a Legislative Update.
