EisnerAmper LLP announced that Michael Imber has joined the firm’s Financial Advisory Services Group. Michael is a restructuring specialist with more than 25 years of experience counseling clients through commercial Chapter 11 bankruptcies and municipal Chapter 9 bankruptcies as well as workouts, receiverships and municipal consulting assignments. Prior to joining EisnerAmper, Michael led the state and local service line of a national consulting firm’s public sector services practice where he focused on fiscal sustainability for cities, counties and other government units.
Some of Michael’s notable experience includes serving as financial advisor to the COP note holders in the Detroit Chapter 9 case; representing the largest unsecured general obligation creditor in the Jefferson County, Alabama Chapter 9 case; as well as serving as the restructuring advisor to the Nassau County Interim Finance Authority, the New York Metropolitan Transportation Authority, and several other major municipal transit authorities. He has testified on fiscal sustainability in front of state legislatures and has led operational improvement engagements for governments.

Michael, who will be based at EisnerAmper’s New York City and Stamford, CT, offices is a board member of the Municipal Analysts Group of New York and a Certified Insolvency & Reorganization Advisor. He has served on the Executive Board of the Turnaround Management Association International and is a past president of TMA's New York City Chapter. He is also a past trustee of the Citizens Budget Commission of New York.
