The program titled Advising Businesses on Bankruptcy and Restructuring is scheduled for Thursday, May 7 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Massachusetts School of Law, 500 Federal Street, Andover, MA.
The program features a panel of experienced practitioners explaining how businesses use bankruptcy and restructuring strategies to respond to or fend off potential calamitous events so that the business may continue to move forward. The faculty includes Jeffrey A. Kitaeff; Stephen B. Darr, CPA, Mesirow Financial Consulting, LLC; Nina M. Parker, Parker & Associates; Thomas J. Raftery, Robert Somma, Posternak Blankstein & Lund LLP.
They will discuss the pros and cons of bankruptcy and non-bankruptcy alternatives, timing considerations in seeking relief under the Bankruptcy Code, the next steps after a business bankruptcy case is filed, how a business can emerge from bankruptcy and how creditors and other parties in interest can protect themselves in bankruptcy cases. A Q and A session will conclude the program.
