On Wednesday, November 10, the Minority Corporate Counsel Association will hold its annual Pathways to Diversity®Conference in New York City. The full-day conference will begin at 7:00 a.m. and adjourn at 5:00 p.m. and will be followed by MCCA's Diversity Dinner Series where the Thomas L. Sager and Employer of Choice awards will be presented from 5:30 until 9:00 p.m.
The agenda will feature a number of programs that will engage participants in thought-provoking dialogue with leaders in the diversity area, enabling attendees to find solutions to take home and share within their organizations.
The highlights are Leveraging Board Diversity to Improve Corporate Governance led by Matrice Ellis-Kirk, managing partner, Diversity Advisory Services, Heidrick & Struggles, and Smeeta Ramarathnam, chief of staff to Commissioner Luis A. Aguilar, U.S. Securities & Exchange Commission.
A panel discussion will focus on the impact the economy has had on legal diversity issues. The panel includes Robert E. Bostrom, executive vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary of Freddie Mac and Charles A. Berardesco, senior vice president, general counsel, corporate secretary and chief compliance officer, Constellation Energy.
The day will end with the Diversity Dinner Series, which will honor the 2010 Thomas L. Sager and Employer of Choice award winners from Boehringer Ingelheim USA Corporation, MetLife and Staples, Inc.
