The Minority Corporate Counsel Association, Inc. (MCCA) announces the election of Samuel M. Reeves, general counsel of Wal-Mart Stores, Inc., to its board of directors. He succeeds fellow Wal-Mart executive Susan Klooz, who retired from the company earlier this year.
Mr. Reeves is senior vice president, general counsel, Wal-Mart US Legal. He joined the company in 2002 and was promoted to his current position in 2009. Prior to joining Wal-Mart, he clerked for Arkansas Supreme Court Justice Tom Glaze and then practiced law in Bentonville, Arkansas for 11 years.
Besides being a member of the MCCA board, Mr. Reeves is a member of the American Bar Association, the Arkansas Bar Association, and the Association of Corporate Counsel, and is an advisory board member for In Legal Color. He has served on the board of directors for Bentonville Public Schools, Bentonville United Way and United Way of Benton County, and Bentonville Little League. He holds his juris doctor from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock School of Law.
