Intended to help lawyers master the federal and local rules of evidence, this series will assist in teaching procedures and trial strategies to deal with the evidentiary and foundational rules.
The first seminar in the series will take place on Thursday, January 8. Speakers for that session will be L. Thomas, Office of the United States Attorney, District of Columbia, and Terrence McShane, Lee & McShane. Topics to be addressed range from competence and privileges to opinion and hearsay testimony, using practical examples for demonstration.
On Thursday, January 15, the second part of the series will continue the discussion of hearsay rules and consider the authentication of various types of exhibits, helping lawyers to understand the evidentiary rules respecting the admission of various writings, recordings and photographs.
