The Los Angeles County Bar Association has scheduled its Ninth Annual Environmental Law Fall Symposium: Spills, Chills, and Bills: A Review of 2010 Environmental Developments, on Wednesday, November 10.
It will run from 11:30 a.m. to 4:35 p.m. at the Sheraton Delfina Santa Monica, 530 West Pico Blvd. in Santa Monica.
The symposium will feature panels on managing media and public relations in high-profile environmental cases, provide an overview of recent 9th circuit decisions under CERCLA, and offer a post-election perspective of the Global Warming Solutions Act (AB32).
The luncheon keynote speaker will be Thomas Girardi of Girardi Keese giving his perspective as one of the best-known plaintiff's attorneys in the environmental arena.
Other topics that will be covered are Media is the Message: Managing Press and Community Relations in the Wake of BP, a panel discussion that will be moderated by Olivier Theard of Sheppard, Mullin, Richter & Hampton LLP; Superfund 360: Recent CERCLA Decisions with panelists Jeffrey Dintzer, Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher, Gene Tanaka, Best Best & Krieger LLP, and Stephen Tuggy, Heller Ehrman LLP; and The Future of California's Global Warming Building Laws in the Wake of the November Elections, a panel that will be moderated by Michael Shonafelt of Parker, Milliken, Clark, O'Hara & Samuelian.
