NAMWOLF will celebrate its 10th anniversary this year at the 2011 Annual Meeting and Law Firm Expo at the Bellagio in Las Vegas.
It will run from Sunday to Wednesday, September 18 to 21.
On Monday morning, the welcome address features Vernice "Flygirl" Armour, America's first African-American combat pilot. She will be followed byJulie Gibbens of Wal-Mart, who will moderate an update about employment law for corporate counsel and litigators. Monday's luncheon panel discussion, moderated by Maurice Grant, Grant Schumann LLC, will take a candid look at the relationship between in-house counsel and outside counsel and effectively managing the relationship. In the afternoon, a law firm expo will give in-house counsel the opportunity to schedule 15-minute appointments with selected minority and women-owned law firms, and a cocktail reception and a gala awards dinner will follow until 10:00 p.m.
On Tuesday, CLE sessions will run from 8:30 a.m. to 5:15 p.m. Among the topics are client communication, avoiding IP pitfalls in corporate transactions, jury trials in a diverse and changing environment, and a "how-to" guide for hiring NAMWOLF firms. Wendy Weingart, Prudential Financial, Inc., will join Stephen Hanas, FDIC, in welcoming in-house counsel new to NAMWOLF and attending their first annual meeting. On Wednesday, the morning CLE session explores effectively protecting attorney-client privilege as corporate counsel. The meeting will end at noon, after the board of directors meeting.
