The Colorado Bar Association has scheduled a two-day Employment Law Conference on Tuesday and Wednesday, May 24 and 25, at the Marriott City Center Hotel in Denver.
It will run from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday and from 9:00 a.m. to 4:50 p.m. on Wednesday.
This program will cover a range of issues for the new and seasoned practitioner, from the perspectives of the plaintiff and the defendant, and it offers plenary sessions, a litigation and an in-house track, and in-depth breakout discussions.
On Tuesday morning, two plenary sessions - employment law storytelling and showing the jury your case in opening statement using demonstrative evidence - are scheduled, and the litigation and in-house concurrent tracks will be held in the afternoon.What employers need to know about immigration and insurance coverage in employment cases are the in-house topics.
On Wednesday, the plenary session offers a case law and legislative update, and the breakout sessions feature an in-house counsel panel with panelists Florine Clark, Red Robin International, Inc.; David Gomez, StarTek; and James Martin, National Renewable Energy Laboratory. New U.S. EEOC regulations on ADAAA/Gina; a session about the ethics of social media; protecting against violence in the workplace; the view from the Division of Labor; and dealing with claims of a current employee will follow.
