JAMS is reopening its Los Angeles and Century City resolution centers in Southern California, its Seattle resolution center and two centers in Northern California—Walnut Creek and Santa Rosa—this week as shelter-in-place orders are lifted. With the addition of these five centers, JAMS will have reopened 19 of its offices since late May.
Following local government regulations, JAMS is scheduling in-person hearings this week in these locations. Along with the previously reopened resolution centers, JAMS is continuing to meet and follow guidance issued by the Centers for Disease Control for all necessary precautions and safety measures as shelter-in-place orders are lifted.
JAMS has implemented extensive safety measures to minimize the risk of exposure to the coronavirus, including the following:
- Following extensive cleaning and sanitizing protocols and procedures
- Providing personal protective equipment to all staff and neutrals (and providing masks for clients who may not have one)
- Adding plexiglass partitions to reception desks
- Ensuring hand sanitizer is readily available throughout each center
- Establishing interaction protocols, including directing foot traffic, setting meeting room capacities and limiting the number of clients in each center at a given time
JAMS is also continuing to offer clients the ability to conduct arbitrations and mediations virtually.
