Intellectual Property ClaimsSubject Of Upcoming PBI Program

Obtaining (or Avoiding) Enhanced Damages and Fees In Trademark, Trade Secret & Patent Actions is the title of an upcoming seminar being offered by The Pennsylvania Bar Institute. The program will take place on Monday, November 3 from 11:30 a.m. until 4:15 p.m. at The CLE Conference Center, Wanamaker Building, Suite 1010, Philadelphia.

Craig D. Mills, Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney PC and M. Kelly Tillery, Pepper Hamilton, LLP, will lead the seminar, intended for attorneys who represent either plaintiffs of defendants in IP claims, in-house counsel, corporate attorneys, or any lawyer who works with intellectual property matters. Topics to be addressed include the statutory and case law requirements for entitlement to attorneys' fees in patent, copyright, trademark and trade secret cases; what is sufficient and not sufficient to support a finding that a trademark or patent case is "exceptional" enough to support an award of attorneys' fees; ethics involving trade secrets and settlements; and practice pointers.
