The three-day Annual Conference on Immigration and Nationality Law, sponsored by the University of Texas School of Law, will be held this fall in Austin.
It will run from Wednesday, October 20 to Friday, October 22, at the Hyatt Regency Austin, 208 Barton Springs Road and will begin on Wednesday afternoon at 4 p.m. and end at 4:25 p.m. on Friday.
On Wednesday evening, the presiding officer of the conference, Vanna Slaughter of the Catholic Charities of Dallas, Inc., will discuss Immigration Benefits and Relief all Practitioners Should Know. Panel discussions will be used throughout the conference, with such topics as Overview of Grounds of Inadmissibility and Available Waivers; Naturalization and Citizenship;Criminal-Based Grounds for Removal; Options for Foreign Entrepreneurs and Investors; and Government Investigations and Audits of Employers (I-9s and H-1Bs).
On Thursday at lunchtime, Lucas Guttentag of the American Civil Liberties Union, the Immigrants' Rights Project, and a Robina Foundation Distinguished Senior Fellow, Yale Law School, will present Immigration Rights and Reform: Prospects, Promises and Pitfalls in the Courts and Congress.On Thursday, an Ask the Experts panel discussion moderated by Jodi M. Goodwin, Law Office of Jodi Goodwin, will provide an interactive opportunity to have questions answered by experts in the field, with panelists who are the top immigration lawyers in Texas.
