Hot Topics In Employment Litigation Subject Of NY City Bar Association Program

The year 2008 was a tumultuous one for employers and employees alike. Therefore, the New York City Bar Association's program, Hot Topics In Employment Litigation, is all the more important and timely. It will be held at the Association of the Bar, 42 West 44th Street, NYC on Monday, May 4 from 6 to 9 p.m. and chaired by Jyotin R. Hamid of Debevoise & Plimpton LLP.

The economic crisis spawned huge numbers of terminations, particularly in New York's financial services industry, and election-year politics generated watershed legislation related to employment. This program will highlight some of the most significant legal developments in the employment area during the extraordinary year 2008 and so far in 2009. Topics will include the Americans with Disabilities Amendments Act of 2008, the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act of 2009 and significant court decisions in heavily litigated areas of employment law.
