The State Bar of Texas has scheduled an Alternative Dispute Resolution Course for Friday, January 29, at La Quinta Inn & Suites, San Antonio Convention Center in San Antonio.
The course will begin at 9 a.m. and adjourn at 4:30 p.m.
The day begins with a presentation by Eric R. Galton, the Lakeside Mediation Center, and Tracy L. Allen, Bodman, LLP, titled Has Texas Fallen out of Love with Mediation? It will be followed by ADR: Where We Started, Where We Are, and the Future, with moderator Trey Bergman III of the Bergman ADR Group being joined by a blue ribbon panel from medical, law school, and technology sectors. The luncheon presentation, a View of ADR in Texas from the Bench and Bar, will include panelists Terry O. Tottenham, Fulbright & Jaworski and Hon. Nancy F. Atlas, U.S. District Judge, Southern District of Texas. Where is Arbitration Headed? will follow and cover the national level, new bills, and the 2009 legislative session and interim work for 2010-2011. Among the panelists for this discussion are Professor Stephen K. Huber, the University of Houston Law Center, and Rep. Todd Hunter, Hunter & Handel and state representative, dist. 32.
